It Is Finished

The song "It Is Finished" was written by Dustin Kensrue.  He is the former lead singer of the band Thrice. Formerly Kensrue was the Director of Worship at Mars Hill Church in Seattle and the Worship Pastor at the Mars Hill Bellevue Campus.  I could not find much on the background of the song, but the following is an excerpt from a Reel Gospel interview with Dustin Kensrue.  

".... It is Finished which I think is the most joyful thing we can realise and one of the most important things is that Christ has accomplished everything on the cross. What I tried to really include in there is this idea that he’s won the war and therefore we’re able to go into battle bravely and… But also realising that it’s not ultimately dependant on us which is very freeing."
